What makes it special

Garinyeo features a long submerged vertical wall running from the coastal reef off Sammaebong out towards Munseom. The wall drops cleanly onto a pristine sand bottom at 20–25 meters.

Giant Dendronephthya corals adorn the rock face, but the signature highlight is seeing 10 to 20 lionfish gathered in close clusters along the wall—an extraordinary photo subject.

Dive guide

  • Maintain safe clearance while photographing lionfish to avoid contact with venomous spines.
  • Cruise along the wall-sand junction with stable neutral buoyancy.
  • Monitor gas reserves and depth progression when drifting toward Munseom.
