What makes it special
Follow Seopseom's northeastern slope and corner while changing depth. There are shallow options and routes into the high 20s, so the same site can be relaxed or demanding depending on the team and sea.
Large soft corals, black corals, pink anemones, and other colonies shape the reef. Lucky divers may find scorpionfish, spiny lobster, pipefish, juvenile pompano, or glassfish. A 2024 marine heat event was reported to cause unusual coral mortality here, so today's reef may differ from older photos.
Dive guide
- Current can change direction or become an opposing flow at the corner.
- Confirm direction, gas-turn pressure, and ascent point before entry.
- Deeper sections may bring a thermocline, faster gas use, and a shorter no-decompression limit.
- Use the local briefing, not the headline map depth, to plan the actual route.
