What makes it special

Travel with a sheer underwater cliff beside you while the blue drops away below. Routes usually begin on the shallower north side and deepen toward the south and the foot of the wall. Flower-thorn, mapshi, min-gashi, and other corals cover the rock, creating a three-dimensional scene rather than a flat reef.

Some operators connect Hangaechang to the wall and drift toward Saekki Islet. Munseom's habitat changes, so an old photograph's sargassum forest may not be present today. Expect changing light, current, and coral textures rather than a guaranteed postcard view.

• Check depth and buoyancy often; it is easy to drift deeper while watching the wall.
• Confirm current direction, team spacing, and boat pickup before a drift entry.
• In low visibility, stay close to the wall and buddy; carry a light and surface marker buoy.
