What makes it special
Missile is an intriguing site featuring large submerged military shell casings that have rested on the seafloor over many years. Nature has claimed these metal artifacts, turning them into unique artificial shelters for local marine life.
Schools of rockfish hover around the casing, and colorful encrusting sponges and sea squirts cover parts of the metal. At 15 to 22 meters, it offers a fascinating historical and biological blend for intermediate divers.
Dive guide
- Avoid touching rusted or sharp metallic edges on the structure.
- Control fin kicks near the sandy base to prevent blinding sediment clouds.
- Carefully track no-decompression limits and bottom time around 20 meters.
